We ensure that essential drugs are available at all times without shortage. many lives are lost due to drug shortage and that is what we seek to drammatically reduce with timely interventions. For instance, when cholera broke out last year, many people died because there was no ORS in Ghana. this was due to product shortage as a results of increase in demand. However, the drug manufacturing companies did not have the raw material called dextrose anhydrous to manufacture ORS. It was really pathetic. 90% of those who died could have survived if there was raw materials in the country to manufacture ORS.
